To give you an idea of how easy and effective using Bisvision is to develop a strategic business plan you can download a free mini Bisvision toolkit. For more information click here.
How Does The Bisvision Public Sector / Non- Profit Edition Work?
Bisvision is a strategy planning toolkit that you use to take a structured approach to developing a vision and strategy for your organisation.
The kit includes:
A simple process diagram to follow
Question cards for each stage of the process to prompt your thinking
A computer application with a built in strategic plan template that lets you record your strategy then export it into MS Word
A carry bag
Bisvision takes you through a 3 - step process as you put together a vision and strategy for your organisation:
There are two sets of cards for ‘Where we are’– The Scan and Assess cards.
There’s one set of cards for ‘Where we want to be’ – The Vision cards.
There are two sets of cards for ‘How we get there’ – the Plan and Execute Cards.
Each of the 174 cards in the Bisvision toolkit asks you a question. Your job is to decide which questions are relevant for your business; and then come up with answers that make sense for you. See examples of the cards
Bisvision asks you questions rather than giving you answers, so you’ll come up with a vision and strategy that is uniquely tailored to your organisation.
Bisvision Scribe Software
As you discuss each card, you record what you discuss in the Bisvision Scribe software that comes with the toolkit. When you’ve worked your way through the process, you can then export the content in the Bisvision Scribe as a Microsoft Word or plain text file. This means you come out of your planning session with a written strategic plan for your organisation.

How long will it take me to put together a strategy using Bisvision?
It can take the best part of a day to go through the entire process. There are five sections in Bisvision and if you choose ten cards from each section and spend 10 minutes on each card that adds up to 8 ½ hours. Most people prefer to break it up into 2-3 chunks of 2-3 hours at a time.
Does using Bisvision mean I don't need a business Mentor or Coach?
Not necessarily. Bisvision asks you questions. It does not give you answers. You can choose to answer the questions yourself or discuss them with a coach or mentor. A Business Coach or Mentor can be a great complement to the Bisvision toolkit especially if you work alone. They can give you an outside perspective of your business.
How often should I review my strategy using Bisvision?
Annually is a minimum. For some businesses in highly competitive areas reviewing the strategy more than once a year is a good idea. Any significant changes in customer preferences or competitor activity are reasons to review strategy.
Will Bisvision help me implement my plan and monitor success?
No, that’s up to you. There is a great business implementation / monitoring tool call PlanHQ (www.planhq.com) that we recommend you use to help you with implementation.
